Finally Senate passes 2016 budget
The Senate on Wednesday, passed the 2016
Appropriation Bill sent to joint session of the
national assembly by President Muhammadu
Buhari, on December 22, 2015.
Nigerian Senate Wednesday afternoon passed
the 2016 budget after weeks of postponements.
Senate President, Bukola Saraki, who presided
over the senate proceeding today, said it is now
left for the executive to implement the budget.
He assured that teh senate will do its own part of
the work by ensuring monitoring through
oversight function and also amend laws like the
public procurement act.
